Weekly Movie Post

For this weeks movie post I want to talk a bit about Vudu.  It is an easy way to share movies with your significant other if you enjoy watching movies together.  If you or your significant other buys a hard copy of a movie with a digital download, they can put it on the Vudu account and the other can access the movie without a hard copy.

Christian and I's Vudu account also helps us keep track of what movies we own together, so we do not get each other duplicates for any special occasion.

Since Netflix is more popular, he and I do not use Vudu as often.  One movie we have watched numerous times on Vudu is The Hateful Eight.  We are both pretty big Quentin Tarantino (one Christmas I got Christian Samuel L. Jackson's wallet from Pulp Fiction) fans and as soon as the movie came out (a winter break, I believe three years ago) we watched it as often as we could.

The first time we used Vudu over long distance, we watched The Hateful Eight,  and remember us video chatting while we watched.  My house does not have the best wifi, so because I was video chatting and streaming a movie, my movie kept buffering and Christian had to constantly pause his so we would stay at the same part.

While having movie nights "together" for two years we have run into some technical, and not so technical problems.  So as a PSA to anyone interested in long distance movie nights:

You will probably, at some point, get tired of your partner talking during a movie.

You will not always be on the exact same scene at the same time.

When you do get your movies' perfectly timed together, it will feel like one of the greatest accomplishments of your relationship.

And above all; you will enjoy that time "together."

  1. Not going to lie when I saw the screenshot, I thought it was a widget for allowing us to illegally download movies from this site. I am such a goob sometimes. Have you ever used this in tandem with rabb.it. It's a media streaming site for people to watch movies together. I often use it to watch Games of Thrones with friends.
